Even when men officially earned more, no feminist wanted to address the fact that the jobs men took were simply more expensive to do. Men have to spend more on transportation, replacing clothes, and eventually spend more on healthcare because those types of jobs were more demanding.
Then there's the fact that men take harder jobs because they are expected to provide for women. Even 50 years ago, if you accounted for all the financial transfers that occured when men and women dated, women ended up having more money spent on them.
