Anyone could have the easier life of just laying on their backs, but women are like anyone else and want to be productive at something. Something other than more domesticated housework and chores. Plus there are guys out there who also would prefer to be a stay-at-home father/husband. It just depends on how productive you are when it comes to more traditional jobs. Though considering the rise in the popularity of remote work. There is a chance of a return to stay-at-home spouses/parents.

I like that you're checkmating feminism with it's own ploy of gender equality and abolishing gender expectations and roles

You're damn right I don't WANT to work. What kind of person WANTS to waste half of their waking life doing some inane bullshit to help some company who doesn't care about you rake in millions while they spare you comparative pennies in return? No one wants to, they HAVE to to survive. If I had kids I would want to spend as much time with them as possible and not waste their precious early years sitting behind a desk.
