IF U live in USA this all adds up years from now in a larger MUCH Larger Social Security check.

I'll be working nights until classes start on aug 29.
I'm working on a sleep 'schedge. I'm just trying to balance free time in the daylight with work at night and sleeping.

My shift differential Isnt that much. Or is there some third shift thing for social security because they know you are gonna die sooner from working third shift?

I am grateful to have a job though. Really grateful, even if it is very taxing.

Few if any pay attention to this and I sure as hell did NOT.
What you end up getting from them is based on what you put in2 it. So the more you work the more you get. I wood have to look up exact numbers on web but as I remember most people only get about $1200/Mo yet its possible to more then double and beyond that number. r04r rags on me when I fail to include the World wide view in my replies so for those outside USA
$1200/Mo might be enough to live in a Trailer Park one day and that wood probably be a Single wide rented. One might end up buying dog or cat food to eat nor am I kidding.
I could in fact collect money now but the longer I hold out the more it is nor do I need THEM now.

So this is the official site from USA Gov so it must be accurate
"The average monthly Social Security benefit for a retired worker was about $1,177 at the beginning of 2011. This amount changes monthly based upon the total amount of all benefits paid and the total number of people receiving benefits."
"The maximum benefit depends on the age a worker chooses to retire. For example, for a worker retiring at age 66 in 2011, the amount is $2,366."
Now here is the kicker and Y I have yet to apply
"You can decide to continue working full-time beyond retirement age. In that case, you can increase your Social Security benefit in two ways:
Each additional year you work adds another year of earnings to your Social Security record. Higher lifetime earnings may result in higher benefits when you retire.
In addition, your benefit will be increased by a certain percentage if you delay retirement. These increases, called delayed retirement credits, will be added in automatically from the time you reach full retirement age until you start receiving benefits or reach age 70."
So I will end up getting more but will max out and have to take mine
Y hold out? Based on current interest of money banks or whatever safe pays EXCEPT for annuities
Yearly Rate
of Increase = 7.5% for each year I hold OFF
Based on my current standard of living and fact I have taken a huge hit re daughter at Harvard Med School - Its not much money but its not like I wood leave it to rot with US Gov just for the heck of it. I know a few who have lol
In round numbers I may end up with a bit over $2475 Month and still can collect US Gov Pension $$$ from work I did for them for a bunch of years. It has other benefits as in a more liberal Health plan the that crapola Medicare thing. Currently I pay a huge amount for a medical plan for me and the few employees I have. Never use mine but one can always end up with Meteor falling through roof or a car accident or I could have a Mountain climbing accident one day. Shit happens
