This morning I woke up with dried blood in my ear. Last night I visited a friend who recently got over an ear infection, so I'm wondering if maybe I caught that somehow, but I'm not sure if ear infections are generally contagious or if they develop that quickly. Should I go to an urgent care clinic? I can't call my doctor until monday and who knows how long it will be before I can get an appointment.

Yes, go to a clinic. An ear infection is close to the brain, and you can imagine that it can cause problems.

If you're sure it's from your ear, go to urgent care

Well I went to a walk in near me. They said my eardrum looked fine and they had no idea where the blood came from. They said I must have scratched my ear somehow but they didn't see any scratches and I think if I scratched myself bad enough to bleed that much I would have noticed. They also looked at me like I was an idiot when I asked if it was possible for ear infections to be contagious lol. So I've learned nothing but I feel a little better knowing my ear drum didn't burst or something.

Externally hosted imageCheck out my earbud, fora. I was watching YouTube videos last night before bed and didn't notice the blood when I took them out since I had the lights off. So it started bleeding when I was still awake and didn't realize.

Christ I fucking hope not. Bedbugs are damn near impossible to get rid of.

I hadn't thought of that, but I would think if there was a pimple, they would have saw it when they looked at my ear at the urgent care clinic. They told me they couldn't see where the blood may have come from and besides the small amount of remaining dried blood, my ear looked completely normal.

Could the blood have come from somewhere else?

I have no idea where it could have. I haven't found blood anywhere else besides in my ear.
