David Tennant. lol @1,208,338 (B)
You never witnessed the shitstorm when the first female doctor was cast? Really? Matt even had his Nurse Who shtick.

Yes, but I still need to watch Jodie’s last season so I can’t discuss it from an episode perspective since I’ve been trying to avoid spoilers until I watch it.
David Tennant is apparently back as the fourteenth doctor for a few specials and then he’s going to regenerate.

Oh its some young black actor I've never heard of. They're making a big deal of him playing a gay doctor, even though he's definitely had a male romance in the past

He’s not the current doctor yet. He’s the fifteenth doctor. Tennant returned for a few specials as the fourteenth which means he’s technically has three incarnations. And I’m just going to start Jodie’s last season so I’ll fill everyone in on details they’re curious about.

I forgot to mention that Disney+ is going to be the platform for all future episodes and specials outside of the UK as the BBC entered into a partnership with them which also includes an increased budget. They have access to that Disney money now.
> Because this show makes a very big deal anytime someone involved is a perceived minority
it really doesn't. you sound like the "teach the controversy" crowd. there's literally no controversy

Wait, how do they do this? And I’m pretty sure Idris Alba is too big a star for this show. It doesn’t exactly have Disney money yet.

Huh? A female doctor still is pretty significant for a show that has had a long history of male protagonists. Since 2005, Doctor Who was sort of always a progressive show so it makes sense they’d celebrate milestones.
Maybe less significant since they basically revealed there were two female doctors.

It really isn't. It's the same thing as changing the gender of the Ghostbusters. Just trying to pander to the female demographic.

I agree. I don't think it was a horrible movie, but it wasn't memorable
Also the director called anyone who didn't like it, misogynistic, and that was upsetting to me because I enjoy some of his books and it made him look ugly

Yes, the movie was fine, and that seems like a bit of an overreaction. He took a huge gamble in changing up the formula, and tried to turn the blame on others when it didn't work.
> I don't see having an actor of a different sex or race on a show as a milestone
yet you had to mention, unprovoked, race like it was some big thing. no one believes you.

@1,208,419 (Kook !!rcSrAtaAC) > I was actually going to go to the theater and see it, but he called everyone who doesn't see it a homophobe, so I'm just going to pirate it
That'll show 'em!
