Topic: Gay and lesbian couples can hold traditional values.

Anonymous A started this discussion 3 years ago #107,187

This isn't something that is mutually exclusive to straight couples. It only appear that way because the majority of traditional couples tend to be straight couples due to societal expectatons and the upbringing instilled into us during our youth. Knowing this it is easy to also realize that this would apply to a lot of gay and lesbian couples. Being in a so called "traditional" relationship isn't about the gender of the two people who form the union. It really just comes down to roles in the relationship. The provider and the support. The protector and the beloved. Etc. So to whomever is insisting that Kook cannot be a "tradwife" doesn't know jack shit about what they are talking about.

I have nothing against traditional couples, though I don't think most would consider us to be such

The only people who would argue against this are straight white men who think their view of the word "traditional" is the right definition. They're honestly the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet and need to learn to hold the shit sometimes.

Well, according to tradition, marriage is between a man and woman, so inherently any other type of marriage is a break from tradition. Or do I not know what traditinal actually means?

It comes down to values. That's just the outdated view of what marriage makes up. Marriage or not, that isn't what makes a relationship a traditional one.

But gayism is not a “traditional” value. It has only become more acceptable in the last few years.

Just not the traditional value about marriage being between one man and one woman. @1,203,596 (A)

@OP

You seem to have some kind of weird hangup about what conservative Christians think about LGBTQP stuff. Why do you care? Are you a Christian and worried about eternal damnation? Are you trying to join a fundamentalist Baptist church and keep getting rebuffed? Are you living in the middle of Mormon country?

Why do you care so much what other people think?

Obama wouldn't have been elected if the National had known his wife was a chick with a Dick.
Thus, NO gay marriage.

Nothing like a traditional relationship being gay. I mean how traditional can you get when you start yearning for the close feeling of love and all you can do to get that closeness is to stick your dick up your loves shitty asshole or try and find fulfillment but bumping clits together. So intimate and traditionally loving!

There is a character by the name of Michael Burnham from Star Trek Discovery and she is a woman. The show also doesn't imply that she is female-to-male either. She's just a female character whose name is Michael. Also, a lot of female names today were once male names in the past.
