The other day I was on my way to a job and noticed I was out of gas. I had 10 dollars in my bank account. I went to this gas station and paid at the pump, but it wasn't working. I went to the next pump, and put 10 bucks worth in. A few days later, I checked my account balance, and saw that I had only been charged a dollar. Today I did the same thing, at the same pump, and it only charged me a dollar. I think there's a glitch in the gas pump that only charges me a dollar for any amount of gas. I'm thinking about going back and completely filling up my tank.

Have fun when you overdraft. It's funny you bring this up, OP. I was at the bank today asking why I had much less in my checking account than expected. Turns out a lot of gas stations only charge the first dollar of a sale as debit. The rest comes out a few days later as credit when they report the sale to your bank. I give you three or four days of this before you are in the hole. True story.

Well, I used credit. Luckily I get paid tomorrow and have only bought 20 dollars worth of gas so far. I won't overdraft, and yeah, it's wise to wait a few more days.

That $1 is a hold. They don't know how much you are gonna pump, so they put in a "hold" for $1.
Put some money in the back or you are gonna get hit with charges.
