Look, I'm sorry that it happened. Most Western nations showed great sympathy. But, disasters like that happen all the time in many parts of the world, and even worse things. America is not "the world". They have such a self-aggrandizing sense of importance. "The world" did not change on 9/11. The US may have, but that is not the entire world.

There have been some significant changes caused by the US. The biggest that I can think of is banks needed to record when account holders are US citizens. That happened about 5 years ago. So you might be asked if you are a US citizen when you open an account.
