If your boots are slightly large, and you have already added an insole and a heel insert, what else can you do to make the fit a bit more snug? Returning is not an option because this particular, special edition boot is no longer made, and you got the last pair.

The one I got is Kudu leather. It is soft and requires little if any breaking in. It's not the normal 1460s.
