My question is: since open immigration has only positive effects, shouldn't Muriel Bowser be not only thanking Texas and Arizona for sharing their immigrants but actively arranging even more bus charters? Why should immigration be an "emergency"? This will hugely benefit Washington DC at the expense of Texas and Arizona.

Which I think puts me in good standing and aligned with Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, Payne, Madison and the rest of the founding fathers.
I'm not comparing myself to them,but merely aligning with them on this subject.
The United States of American is and has always been a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC. Recognizing the Rights of the Individual over the will of the Majority. The DemocRATS never use the word REPUBLIC in regard to our system of government and the Republican rarely do so.
This in spite of the fact that "democracy" isn't mentioned AT ALL in the declaration of independence,the U.S. Constitution, or the Bill Of Rights. Benjamin Franklin spoke of democracy as two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner and a well armed lamb contesting the vote!
Democracy is NOTHING more than Mob Rule. A lynch mob is a democracy. Pure majority rule with no regard for the rights of the individual .All a mob needs is a tree limb and a Rope and no thought to the fact that the majority Can Be Wrong.j

It's very odd. I am of course totally furious at Greg Abbott for fucking up Texas like that, but Muriel Bowser really shouldn't be looking a gift horse in the mouth.
