This would only be if the head patriarch isn't a complete piece of shit. Polygamous relationships should never be about a hierarchy where you treat your partners as lesser than your more favored ones. A true polygamous man would love each partner as if they were in a monogamous relationship. He is allowed to have his favorites, but also mustn't allow his favoritism to be display to where the other partners feel neglected. This is the burden of the polygamous man.
