is that almost all female sex workers are under the control of a pimp, madame, etc. They usually cannot keep but a tiny percentage of their profits, and usually, NONE of it. Their "controllers" provide room and board and that is it. They can never get wealthy the way they could as independent agents. The thugs in the industry will make sure any independent agent is quickly eliminated or taken under the control or a pimp or madame.

This is only really true for street-based sex work (i.e. prostitutes). If you are working as an escort, sugar baby, at a brothel, doing OnlyFans etc., you are much more likely to have control over your situation. It's also safer because you can screen out violent or weird men much more that way compared to just like hopping in a car and hoping you don't get murdered.
