Definition of busybody --Merriam-Webster

: an officious or inquisitive person

First Known Use of busybody
1526, in the meaning defined above

I have to say, this definition is inadequate. A busybody gets into your personal shit, and is especially odious if they have the power to make law that can lead to your loss of freedom. Here are other definitions:

Cambridge dic: a person who is too interested in things that do not involve them; a person who is interested in things that do not involve him or her, esp. other people’s private matters
