I don't normally have so many things installed, but I've been seeing what's out there lately. Pretty cool stuff.

I happen to have a blackberry--the only smartphone with 3G coverage in my area--and I have no aps installed, with the exception of Google Maps and Crunch SMS.

Online radio for Digitally Imported. For all your electronic music of course. Premium4lyfe.

Recently downloaded this a couple days ago to fuck with my music. Pretty fun and it's compatible with adapters you can plug into the headphone jack. No lag for music and has an autodj feature which isn't bad.

HeyTell
This is for voice messaging. I personally think it's one of the best out there because I can use it with my friends that have Android phones. Pretty useful when I don't feel like texting.

Imgur Mobile
This was useful for uploading images onto this site, but Safari Upload Enabler made this useless for me. I'll probably uninstall this.

SHOUTcast
Again, if you like online radio there's a big variety on SHOUTcast. If you install this, remember to go into settings and enable high bitrate streams.

Skype
With the $2.95 a month plan, this is good for unlimited phone calls. Not really my thing since I have unlimited minutes basically, but yeah.

Textfreek
In the future Textfreek will have picture messaging, voice messaging, and lots of other features. I'm just waiting for them. It's compatible with my biteSMS.

Your daily fix of cool videos. Entertaining for me.

Activator
I love this so much. Makes things so convenient. I disable SMS notifications by pressing the volume up and volume down button simultaneously. If I short hold the sleep button my SBSettings pop up. I like it better than having to slide my status bar. I set it up so if I short hold my home button it opens my QuickMP3 where I can download any song instantly.

biteSMS
This is probably one of the best text messaging applications out there. It uses your native texting, but you can also by credits and use Textfreek with it as well. Actually, it's how I found out about Textfreek. So many options. Disable SMS notifications, passcode your SMS, templates, emoticons, signature, etc. The list goes on and on. At first I got it to replace my Quickreply for SMS, but there's just so much more than that. I love it so much I actually paid $10 after sampling a cracked version. (I support developers that actually make something worth the money or if I use their app a lot.) Well, I could keep talking about this, but you should just check it out yourself. Also, if you see my @OP picture, that Messages app is biteSMS. I made it look like the native SMS app.

Bug Fix: Stuck Pages
Ever since I've installed this, my icons haven't changed positions like they used to if my springboard crashes. Very rare it crashes, but no problem ever since then.

CallBar
I love this because calls always fuck me up when I'm texting. I plan on buying this.

Compass for Maps
Useful when stupid Google Maps assumes I know the directions of north, east, south, and west.

Five Icon Dock
If you see my home screen in the @OP picture, I like it like that.

iFile
Useful when I'm using QuickMP3 and need to move music to my My Music folder.

Installous 4
Definitely a must have for cracked apps. Maybe you've seen mine around? Oh wait, I don't use the name Meowth.

Useful for closing all background apps at once.

Music Controls Pro
Another must have for me. Simply amazing. Love using it with Pandora.

PandoraSkips
A must have for Pandora users. Pandora Skip Hack was nice until they stopped removing ads and rarely updated it. This one keeps the ads as well, but it works a hell of a lot better and hasn't crashed on me like Pandora Skip Hack always did. Skipping too many songs on Pandora Skip Hack would crash Pandora. No problem here.

Passcode Lock Preventer
Useful when my little cousins take my phone and try to guess the passcode. It doesn't disable my phone at all. Love it.

PwnTunes
Love it because I download songs right onto my iPhone and it adds to my iPod.

QuickMP3
This is great for use with PwnTunes. Just search a song, click, and it downloads!

SBSettings
No idea why anyone wouldn't have this installed, but I've seen people without it.

UDIDFaker
If you know what you're doing, this is a useful tool. Especially for me.

WifiSMS
When I'm too lazy to keep texting on my phone, I enable this and text from my laptop.

Got a jailbroken iphone 4

Got 3 really kickass GPS apps, NES and SNES emulators, weather, gas prices, etc, but I didn't install too much on it because I have a fuckload of music on it too. It's sweet to have a portable dock stereo and take that to a job. One of my customers is really starting to like Phish :p

Got any recommendations? like, your very favorite apps? It seems like you can get fucking anything with installous.

Oh, and if I upgrade, don't I have to download the new firmware, jailbreak it (I use sn0wbreeze), and then put it on my phone, or is there a way to do it without having to redo everything?

I don't like to use Installous because I feel dirty as a developer. Like, I'd do it with £399 software on my computer, but not a 79p app on the App Store, created by a developer who could be doing it as his only job. Only things I pirate on iOS are stuff I don't think the developer deserves money for, or batshit insanely priced stuff.

But my favourite apps/mods are Tiny Wings, Tweetbot (so much better than Twitter.app), FolderEnhancer (worth the money, makes folder-opening faster and nicer), qTweeter (pull down the status bar to update Twitter/Facefuck), SBSettings (should be auto-installed with a JB IMO), PwnTunes, Safari Download Manager, Safari Upload Enabler, iCab Mobile (for unjailbroken devices, this unlocks the Upload File option), and 3GUnrestrictor (better than My3G and isn't made by jews aka Intelliscreen). Just a few.

I tend to stay away from themes because there are usually no good ones for the iPhone and even rarer for the iPad. Same goes with SB mods -- just adds unnecessary lag.

And yes, if you upgrade you need to redo everything. There is, however, an app called xBackup which backs up a list of mods and repos from Cydia so you can restore them when you wipe your iOS device. Works nicely, but it's not free.

Cool. Yeah TBH the only apps I pirated were my GPS stuff, and I'm pretty sure they're all from big companies, but if it's something that's inexpensive, I'm happy to pay for it. But yeah, I'm curious about the firmware upgrade -- if it's even necessary and what I'd have to do. I'm guessing I'd need to download it and run it through sn0wbreeze and put it on my phone, but will iTunes keep all my shit backed up if I decide to do it?

It'll back up your apps (including cracked ones -- just remember to reinstall AppSync after you restore and rejailbreak), but not your Cydia mods. xBackup does it for you, though (mentioned above).
