Far from claiming 100% efficacy, I'm claiming the vaccine stops maybe 1% of COVID. I think Biden would have been better protected by carrying a rabbit's foot or sprinkling some holy water around the Oval Office.

Where are you getting the 1% number from? The main value for an older person like Biden is that the vaccine makes it so he has very mild case when he gets it. The death rate for an 80 year old getting Covid is like >10% and Biden has just some mild symptoms. Trump needed to be hospitalized with low O2 and Biden is working through it. To be fair, it did prevent the original (wild type) covid from spreading very effectively. I just checked and it was estimated to prevent household transmission by over 60%, in addition to its benefits of reducing mortality. It's less effective against the variants but it's still to some degree effective at preventing transmission and to a much larger degree effective at preventing serious illness and death.

I also knew someone who got infected after being vaccinated, but she worked at a hospital that was overwhelmed with COVID cases so she was probably exposed to like 1000x the covid of the average person. Were you working at the nursing home when you got it?
