the illegals oddly enough are less likely than home-grown people to commit these crimes. not saying having illegals is a good way to manage things, but if you wanted less such crimes, you would want a higher proportion of illegals compared to homegrowns. maybe even prevent people from being born within the country since they are more likely to get into those high-profile crimes. I'm not advocating anything, just pointing out how isolated instances can make people not see the forest for the trees.
I should also point out that the Democratic Party's policies are not accurately described as fighting tooth and nail etc.

Some countries that let in Muslim immigrants had sharp increases in rapes. They would even try to solve it by giving out bracelets that said "don't touch" in Farsi

Why was no rape reported so Ohio's own AG would have known about it? That is pretty strange in of itself. You mean, the parents didn't immediately want it reported to the police when they found out about it? Why now? Forget the doctor, because as a parent I would have reported it myself!
Why did the girl have to go to Indiana for the abortion when Ohio does have a provision to handle emergencies such as rape cases? It could have been handled in Ohio no matter what the radical left wants us to believe.
It wasn't just Fox News, because even The Washington Post couldn't find any proof of it. Just one paper which has been known to lie in the past, was claiming they had just one source for their story, while refusing to tell anyone anything else about it. It's pretty damn suspicious!
Just because someone admits to a crime, doesn't necessarily mean they actually committed that crime. Yes, if someone is a radical left hypocrite, then they might choose to believe the story, but a lot of people will confess to crimes for the notoriety. Police put up with it on a regular basis. Police have to sort through the kooks all of the time to find the actual perpetrator.
I had a friend spend 20 years behind bars for a crime he didn't commit. He had signed a confession against his will, but that confession was a lie. I know for a fact that it was a lie, because he was with me the night the crime took place. The judge totally ignored my testimony and convicted my friend based entirely on that confession alone.
I tried to find evidence of the crime online, but it took place back around 1971 and I discovered not all crimes committed prior to the internet can be found online.
Much later we found out the judge's daughter was engaged to be married to one of the arresting detectives, and the judge was helping his son-in-law-to-be by helping him get a promotion via a conviction. The judge should have recused himself for that reason but didn't. My friend's parents finally gave up trying to legally clear his name in the courts and convinced the governor to pardon him with the newest evidence they had. Since he was serving 2 life sentences, he had another 20 years to go before he could be paroled..
Here's my take on it. The left needed a scapegoat and found themselves a Taco (Dr. Jill Biden's description of Hispanics) they could force into signing a false confession for a crime which might never have happened in the first place. I happen to know Democrats have no problem forcing people to lie or sending them up the river for crimes they didn't commit. Pretend I'm from Missouri. I happen to know based on my personal experience that a confession isn't proof of anything, so show me the proof! Show me the proof there was actually a 10 y/o pregnant girl, and show me the DNA proof that the fetus was his! If it is his kid, then the DNA from that fetus should match up with him! That's all I ask, but we both know that is never going to happen.

Columbus police were made aware of the girl's pregnancy through a confidential referral by Franklin County Children Services that was made by her mother on June 22. Columbus Dispatch public safety reporter Bethany Bruner knows how the system works. Each day, the Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk website posts a list of arraignments. On Wednesday it showed "rape of a child under 13." She pulled the file. The victim was 10.
She went to the arraignment. She was the only reporter there when a detective testified under oath that the girl was taken to Indiana for an abortion.
