...one mass shooting every few days, and individual gun murders dozens of times daily. The only one. It also has the most guns in the world. But guns are not the problem. I promise. What we need is actually more guns to make it safer.

Living in the UK, I am always afraid of being shot due to the fact no one has gun. If we aren't armed, how do we defend ourselves against the people who don't have guns. What we need is more relaxed gun laws. Give everyone a gun and I will no longer fear getting shot!

It's actually down quite a lot from what it was a few decades ago. It's even more of a drop when you look at the per-capita figures. You can now walk away from a shooting that would have been fatal 50 or 60 years ago.

Puritans were religious extremists and the Bible was used to justify atrocities such as the slave trade. I guess you could argue that firearms ended theocracy and slavery in North America.
