As for a famous Japanese person who actually did die, Kazuki Takahashi just died in a snorkeling accident a couple days ago :( Creator of Yu-Gi-Oh, which was a huge part of my life in the early 2000s. I'm very rarely upset about celebrity deaths, because they're strangers so why would it affect me, but this made me genuinely sad.
