I changed my class schedule at school. One of the classes I changed out of was an exclusive application-only class that I was hand selected for.
I also changed out of another class I could have been great in but I was afraid of stress.
And now I regret my decisions because I'm in horrible classes now. Full of trashy idiots whom I refuse to associate with. and I most likely can't reverse my decisions.

The difference between the rich families and poor families is pretty negligible from a big-picture point of view.
That being said, "ghettos" as you might think of them really don't exist. Less noticeable drug culture (aside from marijuana).

Ive owned cars with high mileage, it isn't fun either paying $1000 to get a front end rebuilt, and it isn't pretty when you are putting that $2300 transmission in. If you buy a high mileage car out of anything other than pure necessity, you will suffer with it, and no one will buy it from you once you get tired of pouring money into it.
You have the ability to take that money, and buy something not only cheap, but economical and long lasting with low miles. Don't worry about what your friends will think of it, its just a car, and your still a teenager.
There is plenty of time for a jag down the road, You still have years to go before you could ever properly afford one. Right now, find something you can drive just to get you from point A to point B and back again.
