get you in London?

Basically a 1 room hole in the wall and maybe enough to cover electric. Food is covered by soup kitchens. And transport, well, maybe on a good month you can afford to use the tube once or twice. Otherwise, you're walking or using the bike you stole last week and will be probably be stolen from you next week. It's like the leave a penny take a penny system.

Only if you stand outside the bar or the tube long enough with a jar and a cardboard sign and are lucking enough for some kind soul to toss you a few quid.

Is £40k even legal in the UK? Minimum wage should be more than that.

Really not that hard since most of us, aside from a few (sad) examples, don't work at a local shop making within error of minimum wage.

How much do you make? Even if you make the minimum, a full time job should get you that much.

London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. This is so simple to understand that it shouldn't need to be said.

Minimum wage is around £18k a year, the average salary is £30k.

Anonymous E replied with this 3 years ago, 1 hour later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #1,181,711

Svet this is just not good enough. When you take tax and living cost into account that salary is utterly pathetic. You should be ashamed.

I own my own home and cycle to work so my cost of living is quite low. Plus, 55k a year in the uk is a really good salary
