I wouldn't want to work at a place where they displayed imperial units only. People are likely (I'm hoping) to go there specifically to annoy the staff by asking "how much is this in metric". Imagine hearing that 500 times a day.

Just use the metric version of imperial units and piss off both groups. It's *not* $2/lb (sorry can't be bothered to find the british pound sign), it's $2/454g.

Trying to save face, I understand. Still, it's pretty embarrassing that you thought the British Pound was a unit of weight.

Yes, McMeta, in maybe the Early Middle Ages, it, like all world currency, was based on the weight of a precious metal. This thread, however, is talking about modern measurements. The pound is a unit of currency, not a unit of weight. But if you want to base your arguments on the Early Middle Ages, then I hereby accuse you of being a witch.

Stop trying to change the subject. It is a logical fallacy. Just admit that you made a humiliating mistake based on your lack of education, and we'll get on with life.

I never said there is no connection. I said that in the modern world, the Pound is not a weight. Just admit you are uneducated. Get that GED, and then we'll talk. Thanks.

The thread is about Boris Johnson (modern world) wanting to do something political (modern world). Dude, there's no shame in being dumb and uneducated, as long as you do something to improve yourself. the HiSET and the GRE are two ways to start your journey. Best of luck!
