The + is what accommodates all the other stuff that doesn't fit in the acronym.

Also I still think asexuals shouldn't be in the acronym. They were never discriminated against (how would that even work?). Even Fred Phelps never cared about them one way or the other. And 2-spirit is the same as being trans so it should also be removed.

Why does that matter? If we go based on discrimination then I think we'd need a new category, and a convenient letter, for people attracted exclusively to minority groups like hispanics or blacks. Certainly people with those preferences have been pariahs for many centuries.

Many people have been discriminated against because they would not date or marry, when their families expected them to have children.

Erasing the lived experience of asexual folks is not a good look, cowboy.
