Just as Elon Musk predicted, now that he's a Republican his political enemies are smearing him by making him pay $250,000 four years ago to settle a sexual misconduct claim.
Anyone could accuse him of misconduct, and even if he's innocent it's easier for him to pay them off.
$250,000 is pocket change to him, he makes more than that in a day.
How many months or years would he be in and out of court if she brought it there? How much money would that cost him? Millions of dollars on the line if he can't manage his business because he's consulting with lawyers and testifying to officials. Time he could never get back.
He can't even sue her for the damages if he proves 100% he's right, and she's lying. She doesn't have the cash to pay for months of any CEOs time let alone the richest man in the world.

Are you referring to the SpaceX severance package? Wow... "Woman stops working at SpaceX, receives her severance package", such a huge story!

Nobody has even accused him of misconduct (aside from the 5th-hand hearsay from BusinessInsider; check out their other non-sense lies in their Musk coverage).
