My first day of culinary school, the instructor told us: “If after finishing this course, you still eat at McDonald’s, except for financial reasons, then something is wrong with you.” Many of us scoffed, but now I can see what he meant. I am not picking on McDonald’s, but the point is simply that people who have a choice of good food and bad food, and willingly choose the bad food, are not acting reasonably. And I truly believe that some food is objectively good, and some food is objectively bad.

Fast food? I cannot think of any. Well, I guess I can eat Popeye's spicy fried chicken. That can be alright to be fair.

Yes, nothing happier than a subsistence diet of fucking fast food.

Who said anyone subsists on fast food? OP asked about simply enjoying it. Thanks.

It's classic black-and-white/all-or-nothing thinking. You either never eat fast food or you literally eat fast food for every meal and subsist entirely on it. The idea of a spectrum - shades of grey between the two extremes - is literally unthinkable to these people. Not "unthinkable" as in "they don't want to think about it" but unthinkable as in "they literally cannot comprehend such a thing".

Not so. I just think fast food is not good food. It's that simple.

> While it’s normal to experience black and white thinking sometimes in life, it could be a sign of something more serious if it becomes persistent. All or nothing thinking is commonly associated with these conditions:

> Narcissism. Narcissism is an exaggerated, excessive interest in oneself. Black and white thinking can be a symptom of this personality disorder. People who have it will often find it challenging to get help because they quickly dismiss doctors and therapists.
