I think it will help with my anxiety and depression. I do not like inhaling smoke, so, if they approve me, I will do edibles. Any advice re: native v. indica?

Some of the stupidest people I have ever known have smoked a whole bunch of pot from morning to evening. Some really intelligent people I have known have smoked pot from morning until evening.

Nothing just gives you schizophrenia. You can't catch it.
Some things (like drug withdrawals) will give you schziophrenic-like symptoms including paralysis, hallucinations, voices, thought insertion, etc. Those are mostly temporary until you withdraw fully. (trust me I've there for all of them) They aren't permanent. If they are permanent, then you should contact any health provider available to you after posting on minichan.net!

What do they have to say on COVID-19 vaccines? @1,170,442 (C)
Amphetamines carry a risk of inducing the positive symptoms of schizophrenia and antipsychotics carry a risk of inducing the negative symptoms.

I hope you find something that helps you feel at ease. Amphetamines or antipsychotics are a pretty scary way to go and best done under the care of a doctor. I don't particularly think pot has any medicinal benefits, but it likely won't hurt you in the short term either. If it helps you feel better, then great! More power to you.
