The fact that you find the great works of literature "overrated and boring" show that either (1) you have not actually read them, (2) you have read them but do not possess the critical ability to understand why they are so great, and/pr (3) you have never had them taught to you by a scholar.

I really am not trying to be. Classic literature is classic for a reason. It really is amazing, deep, and pleasurable, but the reader has to know how to approach it, and how to understand it. I just feel sorry for people missing out on intellectual pleasure.
