My concern was never "global warming" but rather Acid Rain which is REAL and AGW simply ISN'T!
Neither Wind or Solar are practical solutions and that should be obvious to anyone looking at the cost and maintenance vs energy produced. It's already been shown that to power the current electricity needed for Chicago, you would have to put a wind generator on literally every piece of vacant land where one would fit, INCLUDING nearly every park, parking lot and back yard.
And That's WITHOUT charging electric cars.
And BTW, I have had four cats including the two I currently have. Only one (our first) ever caught a bird (a sparrow). He caught it, held it in his paws for about 30 seconds, then smelled it and pushed it away like you might do with a dirty diaper. The bird flew hardly the worse for the experience. I guess the cat caught it out of instinct because he actively hunted mice and voles in our flower bed and was very successful. He never released any of the rodents. Birds just were Not His Thing.
My two current cats like watching birds through the window and one doesn't like going outside at all. One likes going out supervised but is only interested in rolling in the grass.
