Again, it removes the natural oils. Yes, you replenish them, but it takes a couple of days. During that time, your skin gets dry and itchy, and is more susceptible to bacterial invasion. The oils exist for a reason.

Those oils are on our bodies as we sweat through the day, perhaps daily water-only showers will do no harm? Water isn't going to remove much of our precious bodily fluids

When I broke my ankle I wasn't able to shower for about 6 weeks. I did use wet wipes around my genital region but that was about it. I didn't have any major odours (just normal level) nor did I have any itchiness.
