It’s because they don’t like still water and most pet owners just give them water in a bowl so they end up not drinking from them unless they are really thirsty
That’s why they sell those terrible electric water things that have a small waterfall

I don't get this though. If I were a cat I'd rather have a bowl that was changed daily than some fountain bullshit that was changed less frequently than that 🤔
