Topic: What is your cooking preference situation?

Anonymous A started this discussion 4 years ago #103,214

I have been blessed (?) with the ability to open a can of tuna, grab some pieces of fruit, microwave some frozen veges, and call that dinner. Not just once, but day after day, or week after week. Maybe I'll replace the tuna with a slice of cheese or some bread, but you get the picture. I love simple food and I can tolerate or indeed prefer simple food. I can eat what some people consider to be boring food endlessly without it bothering me. I have a phrase. "If it takes longer than 180 seconds to make, it ain't gonna be made".

Just curious how this compares with your preferences.

I cook a fresh, full meal nightly.

I am a somewhat skilled cook, but am not afraid to eat soup straight from the can. Thanks.

Why would you eat processed, tinned food when you can cook well?

Bc I'm not an uptight faggot, who thinks eating "non-processed" food(s) puts me on some kind of imaginary moral high ground. You?

I eat tinned food, of which I keep a several year supply in constant rotation

I too just eat food out the tin.

Are yuo just eating that room temperature??? Seriously?

My dinner: basked salmon with pesto-butter-white wine reduction sauce and dill. IT took all of 30 minutes from start to finish, was not expensive, and was easy. Why eat lukewarm tinned soup when you can eat real food? I just do not understand.

Anonymous C doesn't realise that food can be eaten at room temperature. Personally, I blame his parents.

It'd be much easier for a tin eater to survive an apocalypse, too. Eating cold food out of a tin is already a common occurrence for us.

Of course you CAN. It is just so much better serve hot (soup).

I'll never forget a tv show on training soldiers for living on the battlefield. The sergeant said it's better to heat the meal up rather than eating it cold. I'm thinking why would you bother going to the hassle of heating food just to eat warm food. It didn't make sense then and it doesn't make sense now.

You burn your mouth on hot food. Best keep it at room temperature.

That's probably true since it atomises molecules which end up in the nose but there are some of us who just don't care.

only reason would be to maintain body heat with hot food. hot food is nice when you're sleeping in the cold
