It makes possible a race to the bottom. We’ve seen in countries where the minimum wage is lower that the market will pressure wages to the bottom. This does not improve the economic outlook of these people. We have seen this is true in our own country, as people making minimum wage are provided with many GIMMEDATS to stay out of the gutter.

What's funny is that Obama kept saying that if we don't get a bill to raise the debt ceiling passed, it would hurt our credit rating, but in the end it was a bill that does nothing to solve our debt problems in the long term that caused our credit rating to drop.
