The thought did occur to me when I was writing that. You could say that, hypothetically, there was some shadowy troll influencing Chris in the early days who encouraged this behaviour. Personally, I just think that's unlikely and would have come out by now.

But then the Idea Guys happened, and all of that was dropped in favour of a complete retreat into a fantasy world.
I think it goes to show that you make a valid point, though. Yeah there's no timelime where Chris is normal, but there might've been one where he found people that accepted him and was able to improve as a person that way. Too late now, though.
