And y'know, OP, you compared the whole Satanic Panic thing to the similar claims by QAnon, in a way that implies the former is more credible. But I don't think there's much difference between the two.
QAnon says that there is an organised group of satanists who are ritually abusing and killing children. The Satantic Panic people said/say the same thing. I think the only difference is that QAnon says that this is being done by a vast conspiracy of powerful liberal politicians, whereas the other guys seem to say that it's more of a grassroots efforts done by local satanists, I think.
Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if the two groups you're talking about have basically merged. The people who believed in the Satantic Panic would love this QAnon shit.
