New UID creation is enabled, and the modlog says it hasn't been disabled for a while now.

Yeah, I just tested it. I dropped my UID and the board generated a new UID for me just fine.

I remember tteh telling me about this. He tried quite hard to figure out what was going on, but he just couldn't figure out why the board wouldn't let you specifically make UIDs.
