Tough choice. IMO New Vegas wins on story and the depth of the world and dialogue, but I like Fallout 4's gameplay much more. I abstain.

Y'all can have your own ideas and that's fine but just remember, it was fallout 3 that resurrected it all by introducing the fallout world to a lot of people.

I still haven't played 4 (or 76 but I have no desire to), I need to get on that. But between 3 and NV, I definitely prefer NV.
For fans of old school RPGs, 1 and 2 are also fantastic games and well worth your time.

I liked the one where they had a nuclear war and you were locked in a vault and everything was all fucked up with radiation.
Everything was kinda like retrofuturistic. It was like the 1950s version of the 2000s.
