Russia is WAY passed the T-36.
It was a good tank in it's day but that was almost 80 years ago.
Their current tank is far superior to the T 36 but overall inferior to the current British tank and no match for the U.S. M 1 Abrams and the Russian tank (the T-90 M ) can be destroyed by the Javelin Missiles which were literally Specifically Designed to destroy the T-90 M.
The real variant in this war is soldiers vs Warrior. Soldiers fight where and when they are told to. A Warrior fights for his people and land. You can be both . The soldier has the advantage in open conflict but is at a disadvantage in that they may have no skin in the game and where they fight is just a place and his life is far away. A warrior is fighting for what is HIS . It's not just a place, It Is Home.

That's why the war can get very ugly and then more ugly. I just hope Putin doesn't chose this hill to die on.

He should just save face and take the Luhansk and Donetsk regions and say the peaceful military campaign has been successful then he can hide in a cave for the rest of his life.
