Strange point to make. "The science" has prevented literally 100% of all smallpox infections since the late 70s.
What has changed since then? Could it be, that unlike smallpox and polio, COVID is not a human specific pathogen and will never be eliminated from this earth? Could it be that most of the rhetoric around this all has quite simply been hysterical?

To be fair lockdowns were never a thing in Texas or Florida or Loserana. We had a "wear a mask if you want but if you don't want to that's okay" order.
Honestly I couldn't tell you if restrictions have been lifted or not because they were never really imposed to begin with.

I stayed at a hotel in Texas near peak hysteria and saw a sign in the elevator saying something like "masks recommended for everyone over the age of 12". Made me laugh. Seemed like whoever set that policy was putting up some subtle protest of the whole thing.
