It isn't really 'on the left' though, is it? It sits between your lungs at the centre of your chest. It just protrudes/tilts to the left a little.

Oh boy. This question riles me up because yes, I have met one person, who didn't know. Like you, one online, and one in real life. The guy in real life was obviously lacking in the brains department, but he was capable of having a job, living a normal life etc.
