Why didn't the woman inside the elevator (the doctor you're seeing) press the emergency stop button if she was trapped inside the elevator when it pinned him and started moving? Was she too busy screaming her head off? Also, don't elevators had fail-safes built in so that they'll automatically open if they sense pressure between the doors? And don't they have another fail safe where they will not move if the doors are open? Sounds like this was a really old ass elevator.
