How can opinions be incorrect? If it is my opinion that the earth is flat then that's just my opinion. Yes we know the earth is round but an opinion is just that, an opinion

That opinion is incorrect because we can prove through objective analysis that the Earth is not flat. However, if I was to say that I prefer McDonald's over Burger King, that would not be a correct or incorrect opinion because it's subjective taste.

I understand that when you say that you're trying to make a point about how you think liberals try to silence opposing opinions, but it doesn't make sense. Incorrect opinions are a real thing that are different to the way you're using the term, and liberals don't actually say that to conservatives.

For pretty much everyone except NASA, a flat earth is a perfectly good model to use for daily life. Like when I'm driving around Houston I think of it as flat. It's not actually flat of course but for my purposes (local travel) it's easier to just treat the world as if it is flat. Kind of like "sunrise" and "sunset" - the sun doesn't actually rise up in the sky and then fall down again, this is because earth is rotating but thinking of the earth as stationary and the sun and moon as mobile is perfectly fine for my daily life.

I'm not sure you could call this an "opinion" though. More like "I know this is incorrect but acting as if it is correct doesn't meaningfully interfere with my own daily life".

If an opinion is based on false information, and the information it's based on is debunked (as flat Earth nonsense has been countless times) but they still hold the opinion, then the opinion must serve a purpose other than being a bias held by the person having that opinion - it becomes rhetoric, which can be provably false. You of all people should know this, dude, dogwhistles are the backbone of a good little Nazi.
