have you ever been to a body of water? any beach or river or lake visited with regularity that allows fishing always has tons of line and cans and lead and plastic shit. they are serial offenders who pollute sensitive habitats

It's just a personal preference. Some people prefer coke, some people prefer Pepsi. Some people prefer to fish by diving in and grabbing the fish. It's not a big deal.

Wouldn't the lead just sink to the bottom of the lake though ?
Like, cans and line and other trash tossed off a boat would float and eventually make it to shore, but I can't see how lead would.
I were a fisherman, I would throw my cans in the lake, after poking some holes in them and maybe putting some lead in them so they sink to the bottom of the lake. Like, littering is okay, but you have to do it in a ecologically friendly way. Just make sure your trash sinks to the bottom of the lake instead of floating to shore.

It gets covered up by the silt pretty quickly and neutralized.
Also have you seen lakes? It would take many millions of pounds of lead to fill one up. Fishing weights are nothing on that scale.
@1,154,126 (A)
It's a good compromise that keeps Ninjj and fishermen happy. Yes you can throw your trash in the lake, just make sure it sinks to the bottom.
@previous (jodie !foster2PAQ)
It's not a joke. This is seriously what I would do if I fished. Unfortunately, I think fishing is gay and retarded (and fish is fucking revolting and inedible).

so a body of water is fine and clean as long as you can't see the trash or feel the trash on the bottom
cool

Meta what are you taking about? Lead doesn't just stop being harmful because you sprinkle some dirt on top of it. And you don't need to literally fill up a lake with lead in order for it to be incredibly harmful. There is basically no amount of lead that isn't harmful. What the fuck dude.

but like, the lead doesn't exist until you see it

It's probably time to stop using the lake when the ratio of sunken beer cans to fish caught exceeds 1:1.
@1,154,156 (Fake anon !ZkUt8arUCU)
I mean if you think about it - how many lead weights does a fisherman take fishing? And of those, how many will he lose on average per fishing trip? I mean we're not talking about just dumping lead for no reason. We're talking like a couple tiny 1/4 oz lead weights. In a lake with hundreds of millions of gallons of water.
