In the early 2000s I ran a streaming site for about a year, never could monetize it very well, wasn't sure of the risks etc, became paranoid, delete, delete, delete. True story.

Obviously I knew I was breaking laws etc, it started to get pretty popular and get a LOT of traffic. Delete. Everything.
Some of those sites make a lot of money through various methods and have been around for years, but it was early in the streaming game, there was nothing to go by, no site to look at and say 'hey I'll do that'. I'd have been happy to make a nice chunk of cash and pull the plug, but I just chickened out. Had I stuck with it... who knows.
