Topic: Why is technology so complex for old people?

The most straight forward shit is like trying to crack the hardest code. It has to be the bad brain cells because this should be common sense.

When old people use self service then hold the queue up because they claim it's not working and they don't understand how to use it ?

I tried to teach my father when he was 90 how to use WhatsApp. It was a lost cause. We did figure out that when he had just woken up he was more able to use it compared to at the end of the day. He also had trouble reading email. Emails would be left unread or unsent, or in Drafts never to be sent. There needs to be an email app that is designed for old people.

Perhaps his neural plasticity decreasing with age, as indicated by his increasingly frequent errors with relatively common vocabulary words. Oh the irony, coming from someone who looks down on people who mispronounce Thailand.

That's great. I am disappointed that I was never able to message my parents reliably before they died.

It's mostly just explaining different emoji. No, it is kind of sad that a generation is almost completely missing out on this new method of communication. I got it for my grandma for her to use as just a camera and then i gradually sneaked in other apps to the homescreen. I think she even has a SIM card in it now!

Because they're old and cognitive decline is a hell of a thing. It's clearly already set in for you if you feel the need to ask this sort of ridiculous question.
