But the difference between HTTP and HTTPS is that the latter is encrypted; nobody can snoop on the contents of the websites you visit. Over HTTP, any middleman (employer, ISP, Google, DNS provider, whatever) could see everything about your connection - your username/password, every reply you submit, the full contents of every page you visit. With HTTPS, they can see nothing but the domain name of the site you're on ("minichan.org") and nothing else.

Technically the difference between www and https is that one (https) is an internet communication protocol and the other is the world wide web, i.e. it's a documents platform which operates over the internet.
