Topic: Do they sell door to door solar panels where you live?

Anonymous A started this discussion 5 years ago #101,891

I live in California and these scammers try to get old people to sign up for this bs

Solar panels aren’t bad but these predatory door to door people are

I know Arizona has them and Nevada but that’s it. I’m guessing NM and TX do too. But like FL I don’t imagine them having solar

Texas sometimes but not that often. I think it hasn't caught on here because people are sceptical of their ability to withstand the frequent storms we get. Probably also why it hasn't caught on in Florida despite loads of sunshine. You do see the occasional weird fruitcake with solar panels on his house but it's pretty rare.

They do this thing where they try and tell you the panels are free if you sign a 20 year contract with them and you keeep the panels at the end but you have to pay the solar company for the electricy

So you end up paying the same for power generate electricity for free for the company and when 20 years are up congrats you have free power so long as your ancient solar panels haven’t died by then

Not door-to-door here, but it's pretty common to get phone calls offering "solar panel installation".

I'm a big fan of nuclear myself. I think we should electrify with nuclear. We have a lot of uranium ☢

don't people get shot in or near doorways a lot? You don't want to have unexpected people at your doorway, and you don't want to impose yourself on someone else's doorway
