Topic: Modded Minecraft is SO boring.

Externally hosted imageThere are times when I see a unique mod and I had to load it up in the game to check it out, but it seems like mods nowadays are uninspired, unoriginal, and doesn't hold uniqueness that vanilla Minecraft offers and continues to offer. I don't mind playing mods but I wish there were more, err, creative. It's just magic, industry, and structures it seems. Nothing really awe inspiring.

The last mod that I truly felt captivated was one that didn't really change any of the game play. All it did was make nether and end portals seamless and see through. Meaning you can see directly into them from the overworld or vice versa. That also includes entering them without a loading screen. This mod also includes dimension stacking meaning you can finally dig down from the overworld and end up in the nether just like when you dig down to Hell on Terraria.

Datapacks are truly better than mods because it encourages the developer to use assets from the vanilla game to craft something that truly feels like it'll be a part of the vanilla game. They don't just add some magical block to do shit for them. I admit that it was fun constructing factories and if that's the reason why you like those mods. There is nothing wrong with that, but you have to admit that there is an abundance of technology, industry, and magic mods available now that it sort of eclipses any unique mods that add unique additions to the game, some of which are vanilla friendly.

It's just boring.

I think if there were any tech mods I would want to re-visit it might be GalacticCraft only because it involves space exploration and seeing as they upgraded a lot since the last time I played it might be worth it to do so. There are more planets and moons now than just Mars and Luna. You can explore the entire solar system.

Externally hosted imageI think this alone makes this mod worth checking out. This is a one block portal laid horizontally hidden beneath a church alter. You can say this is where the priest can damn you all to Hell.

I think it might be that this decade-old game is nearing the end of its life. There is nothing really new or exciting to add ?

Externally hosted imageThis mod is so freaking cool, oh my god.

They just had an update that updates the nether with new biomes, mobs, and mounts. Not to mention a village update that expands and changes villages including the addition of raids from a new mob known as a pillager. Before that there was an update that practically changes the ocean. The game is not nearing the end of its life by a long shot.

I wish i could talk like this about random shit. Like someone be like, "Lol this table!" And I'm all, "Actually, to be quite serious, this table, it wasn't until the 18th century..." And then a whole essays worth of time later, just kidding, that's a whole 'nother table entirely. This table actually dates back even further..."

It sounds like you want to be Adam Conover from Adam Ruins Everything.

Okay, the Traveler’s Backpack mod is pretty great if you like to do what I do and lead a more nomadic lifestyle within the game. I also think this backpack mod trumps all over backpack mods.
