Opened communication and learning for humanity, its been a great leap. For myself its also been great, the early days of the internet were rather bland, better in some ways, but a lot less entertaining. It has encouraged me to ask many more questions. Before the internet, many of us just sort of accepted that there are some things we don't know, but now, every time a question pops into my head or I'm curious about something, I look it up on the internet. This curiousity and inquisitive attitude has spilled over into the real world so that people question more and explore more in general. So, the internet has made people more inclined to learn even when the internet is out of the picture.

Naw yet remember doing that as kiddlet just b4 discovery of that cool book in library on how to make gunpowder and nitro and just about every explosive except that was b4 Plastic explosives.
I collect Espresso machines and mix whole beans including roasting green ones for a blend that few besides myself enjoy. Strong and bitter.
I like Dirty Martinis and the various Gins I have tried are ok but I think I could improve one with added herbs n spices and it wood be very illegal for me to distill my own here but then I R only 20 mins from Mexico where I have friends who wood let me set up a small still for just experimenting. Issue of how to get that over the border on return is somewhat a problem but well nuff said.
Getting busted for moving a few bottles is just that they take them away. Having a still here wood b asking for butt hurt lol

For Me prior to the Internet there was World Wide communication via Ham Radio. Perspectives from real people around the world and they used a Handle in most cases or on occasion their real names. In fact I met my wife that way albeit she did not have nor need a license to use a very high tech mountain top repeater system.
So I find the Net very similar and have met many on the net in R/T and will meet a mass of Net users in R/T R/L this weekend in Las Vegas at DEFCON. So has it changed me? I get to vent in ways I dare not vent in R/L - Make myself a fool of myself which wood be costly in R/L
Play or act the Jerk or go in total 100% honest and helpful as I hope I did yesterday to Jump re his request for help on weight loss.
It all depends on the topic and how serious the poster is on the subject and how the thread flows. I do not do the Boners or the toxxxter kinds of shtick so often found on chans. Has to humanity I used to use forums where one could help people out more often.
I use the net in work on technical forums where WE keep it to ourselves so clients cannot see us discuss clients. I have hired people for work off of those forums and even picked up work I DO NOT Need just to help someone out for a bit.
Major changes? Not really but have chatted with those who met and married on the net and later created a family. Again I have to step back on this subject because far too many on Chans end up addicts in basement enviros and end up not having much of a R/L outside the net. Not just Chans as this addiction is all over the place. Gamers on the net who live for the game just as card players do in card parlors and end up without much of a real life.
