Topic: Had a super humbling experience tonight

So, I was hanging out with some friends from out of town, and drank more than I should have. I decided to drive home, and got pulled over for driving too slow. I told the cops that I had had a few drinks, but that I wasn't impaired. They put me through every field sobriety test in the book. I bullshitted my way out of the ones I failed. For some reason, they never gave me a breathalyzer. They let me go, and that's the only reason I am posting this.
Had I gotten popped for DWI, I'd be in jail tonight. I'd have lost my job, my truck, and my kickass insurance rates for having a spotless driving record.
Moral of the story, is that I've already gotten too arrogant about how good life is going for me, and it could have all fallen apart had those cops been less forgiving.
Be careful.

So long ago the Pterodactyl's were still alive. Was driving home on a mountain road with the gal I later married. Had maybe a .18 or so and ended up stopping at edge of mountain so close to Telephone pole that I could not get my little finger between bumper and pole.
Last tyme I have driven when close to .08 - About 14 years ago I took a driving course where you drive drunk on a track on purpose. Porshe on a track and you drive the course with twists turns cones and take a drink and do it again and again. Video to see results per drink. Courser required me to guess my BAC accurately or no pass course. Three days later I passed. (Much more to the three days of driving drunk)

Wood like to point out that I have been pulled over for driving erratic or EVEN for passing cops on road when they were already over the speed limit by say 10MPH and I passed them or at a Stop signal - JUMPING past them so of course they pull me over.
Not drinking but High never the less. Has happened far too many tymes.

Protip: calling a cab is cheaper than a DUI in any scenario, when in doubt at all, call a cab or sleep in your car.
Designated drivers are few and far between... its best to have a plan before you go out. I know how hard it is to stop at a few drinks, which is exactly why I've slept in a lot of parking lots lol.

Calif closing tyme for bars/clubs is 2AM - Back as a teen I had a job delivering booze for a liquor store as well as the general cash register and stocking stuff. Out every night around 1:30 AM and eyes wide open for the mass of drunks coming out of clubs.
