Not sure, but they receive enormous amounts of hate from people who went into them expecting anything like John Carpenter's original. Part 2 in particular is often dismissed as a pretentious and incoherent mess, but it's actually a brilliant film when viewed as an extension of part 1 (on its own, yes, it makes no sense).

Is there a point to seeing them if you have already seen scream

This right here is why I used to spam the word 'idiot' under all of your posts. What in the fuck does this question even mean?

Hitchcock's Psycho is a slasher film. Should you watch it if you've already seen Scream? Yes, you should, and for the same reason that if you've seen some crappy 60s western you should still check out the films of Sergio Leone, and if you've seen some shitty sci fi flick you should still check out Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, and if you've seen some piss-poor Hollywood war movie you should still check out Coppola's Apocalypse Now.

Tbh i only mentioned scream to trigger you but i have historically not enjoyed slashers and was wondering if i might enjoy this one. they're kind of the 80s MCU

If your knowledge/experience of slasher films is limited to 80s and 90s Hollywood garbage, then I recommend you watch films like Psycho (Hitchcock), Peeping Tom (Michael Powell, and it's one of the greatest masterpieces of cinema), Black Christmas (Bob Clarke), and the early giallo films of the Italian masters like Sergio Martino (Torso for example), Dario Argento (Tenebrae for example), Mario Bava (Blood and Black Lace for example) and Lucio Fulci (Don't Torture A Duckling for example).

Alas I'm not. I really am just 'Dave from Russia', I have no idea who this Larkin or Scatman guy is (but I'm not going to constantly push back on the accusation I'm him because that's against what I do, if Anon B wants to think it then I'll go with it). As far as I remember the only person I've ever chatted with 'out of character' by PM is Triptych (it may have been on Tinychan, I honestly don't remember, this is 8 or 9 years ago).

Well then why for the love of sunny Jesus and all his fucking angels have you wasted my time with this? Honest to Christ mate, nobody winds me up on here more than you do, I just want to take your head and flush it down a fucking toilet.

Have you seen them? If not, I recommend them to you. I've gathered you're a horror cinema fan, and I think you'll appreciate those movies, especially the Italian giallo films I listed. Torso, Tenebrae and Don't Torture A Duckling (ironically about a pedophile Catholic priest) are supreme examples of the genre.

And you just happen to know and like everything that child-murdering pedophile knew and liked (fuck, forgot the 'lol'!)
You see how vague accusations work when you're banking on people not knowing exactly who you're talking about and have no way of checking what you're saying?
But again, fine, I'm him, run with it mate, I'm actually really good at this stuff and I'll be happy to mess with you. I had Tinychan thinking I was TGComix for God knows how long.

General accusations are fallacious, yes. But in this case, you actually are Scatman!

> Do you have any post-apocalyptic film recommendations?
Sure, there are lots of good ones. Romero's classic 'Dead' trilogy for example (Night, Dawn and Day). The miniseries of Stephen King's The Stand is decent, and very relevant for our times. 28 Days Later is another.
I've been toying with the idea of doing a 'Father Merrin's Top 50 Horror Movies Thread', like I did a top 50 albums thread. Might do it this weekend if I have time.

I don't understand why you'd want to do that. I mean I get why you might want to troll pedos, but why on earth pretend to be TGComix? That guy was one seriously messed up individual who was into some truly nasty shit.
