Anyway here is the side by side comparison of polls in 2016 and 2020. Notice how in late July Trump actually led in the national popular vote by about 1 percent against Clinton. It is about to hit late July and Trump is down about 9 points to Biden. Even if polls are as wrong in 2016 as they were in 2020, Trump is doing about 10 percentage points worse than he was this time last election. Note also that there was a trend in that campaign: Hillary would pull out to a sizeable polling lead, then the lead would contract down to almost nothing, before expanding out again. That same dynamic is not playing out that way so far. Biden has the incredibly steady lead that Hillary was never able to get.If you were wondering why he's not doing anything, that's why!
